Terms & Conditions of Use

1.1.These Terms and Conditions (Terms) govern your use of the Time-mApp mobile application and any related services (App).

1.2.By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

2.1.Time-mApp is an educational and interpretive platform designed to help users understand historical landscapes through geographically aligned digital reconstructions.

2.2.The App presents interpretations of historical data, not precise reconstructions. It is intended for learning, exploration, and contextual understanding. It is not a navigation tool or authoritative historical record.

3.1.We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to:

3.1.1.Download and install the App on a device you own or control; and

3.1.2.Use the App solely for your personal, non-commercial use

3.2.This licence is conditional upon your compliance with these Terms and does not grant you any ownership rights in the App or its content.

4.1.You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

4.2.You will not:

4.2.1.Reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App.

4.2.2.Scrape, extract, or harvest data from the App.

4.2.3.Reproduce or redistribute map overlays or content without permission.

4.2.4.Use the App to mislead others or present content as authoritative fact.

4.2.5.Use the App in any way that could harm the company or other users.

4.3.We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for misuse.

5.1.You confirm you have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.

5.2.If using the App on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

6.1.TimemApp is built using a wide range of historical maps and source material, including original cartography, archival records, academic research, and expert interpretation. These materials have been carefully sourced, studied, and digitally aligned to modern satellite imagery using identifiable terrain features, landmarks, and reference points.

6.2.Our historical maps were created for many different purposes and within the technical and geographic limitations of their time. As such, variations in accuracy, scale, and detail are an inherent characteristic of all historical cartography.

6.3.TimemApp applies a consistent, research-led alignment process. Map overlays are best understood as informed representations rather than precise survey data. Alignment decisions are typically informed by comparison across multiple sources rather than reliance on a single historical map. Any margin of variation reflects the nature of the original sources rather than a lack of care or rigour. All content is presented in good faith and reflects the available sources at the time of publication.

7.1.TimemApp is designed to support learning, exploration, and public engagement with history. The application prioritises historical context, interpretation, and spatial understanding rather than precise navigation or battlefield reconstruction.

7.2.TimemApp is not intended to function as a navigational aid, a battlefield reconstruction tool, or an authoritative military reference.

7.3.Users should treat the content as an educational interpretation of historical evidence rather than a precise reconstruction of past events.

8.1.You must not use the App:

8.1.1.While driving or operating machinery;

8.1.2.While walking in hazardous environments; or

8.1.3.In any situation where distraction may result in injury or harm.

8.2.You are solely responsible for your safety and awareness of your surroundings when using the App.

9.1.The App may use your device’s location services to position you within historical map overlays and enable core functionality.

9.2.By enabling location services, you consent to the collection and use of your location data for this purpose.

9.3.Location data is used solely to provide App functionality and improve user experience. We do not use location data for marketing or unrelated purposes.

9.4.Location data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which provides further detail on:

9.4.1.The type of location data collected;

9.4.2.Whether such data is stored or processed in real time;

9.4.3.How long it is retained; and

9.4.4.Your rights in relation to your personal data.

9.5.You may disable location services at any time through your device settings, although this may limit or prevent certain features of the App from functioning.

10.1.All rights, title, and interest in the App are owned by or licensed to Time-mApp Limited, including:

10.1.1.Software, code, and interface design;

10.1.2.Map alignments, spatial data structures, and geospatial datasets;

10.1.3.Visual systems, graphics, and digital interpretations; and

10.1.4.Underlying methodologies used to align historical and modern data.

10.2.The App and its content constitute a protected database and/or compilation. All database rights are reserved.

10.3.You will not:

10.3.1.Copy, reproduce, distribute, or display any content;

10.3.2.Extract, re-utilise, download, or store substantial parts of the App;

10.3.3.Systematically extract or reuse data (including via bots, scraping, or automation);

10.3.4.Create derivative works or competing services based on the App;

10.3.5.Attempt to replicate or derive the methodology used to align historical maps;

10.3.6.Use any content for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

10.4.Where underlying historical materials are in the public domain or used under licence, their digital alignment, interpretation, and presentation within the App constitute original protected works. These restrictions apply whether extraction is manual or automated.

11.1.“Time-mApp”, the Time-mApp logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Time-mApp Limited or its licensors.

11.2.You must not:

11.2.1.Use these trademarks without prior written consent;

11.2.2.Use them in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation;

11.2.3.Use them in connection with any product or service not provided by Time-mApp.

11.3.You must not register or attempt to register any trademark, domain name, or social media handle that is confusingly similar to Time-mApp.

11.4.All other trademarks appearing in the App are the property of their respective owners.

12.1.The App incorporates a wide range of historical source material, including archival maps, military documents, academic works, and institutional collections.

12.2.Original historical maps are not reproduced within the application. Instead, information from historical sources is extracted, cross-referenced, and re-presented as independent digital interpretations designed to help users understand the historical landscape.

12.3.Source materials are consulted in accordance with institutional guidance and licensing conditions where applicable. Due to the breadth of material consulted, not all individual references are displayed within the application.

13.1.We may:

13.1.1.Modify or update the App at any time;

13.1.2.Revise historical interpretations as new research emerges; or

13.1.3.Change or discontinue features without notice.

13.2.Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of updates.

14.1.We do not guarantee that the App will be:

14.1.1.Uninterrupted;

14.1.2.Secure;

14.1.3.Error-free; or

14.1.4.Available at all times.

14.2.We may suspend or restrict access for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons.

15.1.To the fullest extent permitted by law the App is provided “as is” and “as available” and we make no warranties regarding accuracy, completeness, or reliability.

15.2.We are not liable for:

15.2.1.Any decisions or actions taken based on App content;

15.2.2.Errors or omissions in historical interpretation;

15.2.3.Loss, injury, or damage arising from use of the App; or

15.2.4.Use of the App while visiting physical locations;

15.3.Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

16.1.You are responsible for your own safety when visiting locations covered by the App.

16.2.You agree to use the App appropriately and lawfully.

17.1.Use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights.

18.1.We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Term, or your use poses legal or technical risks.

18.2.You may stop using the App at any time.

19.1.These Terms are between you and Time-mApp Limited only, and not with Apple or Google.

19.2.Platform providers such as Apple and Google:

19.2.1.Are not responsible for the App or its content;

19.2.2.Have no obligation to provide maintenance or support;

19.2.3.Are not responsible for any claims relating to the App.

19.3.Apple (and its subsidiaries) are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.

20.1.We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms without notice.

21.1.Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver.

22.1.These Terms are governed by the laws of Gibraltar.

22.2.Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Gibraltar.
